Anchors

Anchor Boys meet each week for an hour for a time of fun, games and activities in a happy, relaxed Christian environment. Activities include cooking, team games, quizzes, Lego, origami, Bible stories to name but a few. The boys are awarded badges for their participation, involvement and commitment to the activities. The boys make new friends and learn new skills.

Juniors

In our junior section the children will have lots of opportunities to enjoy different activities during our varied and exciting programme.
We play sports such as football, rounders, obstacle courses etc. We get thinking and creative with origami, picture competitions, puzzles, and even real life Cluedo!
We explore Bible stories in a fun and interactive manner with quizzes and word searches. Finally we have opportunities for days out to explore and take on even bigger challenges and competitions together.
Through all this the children earn badges and awards to recognise their achievements with us. They gain experiences which will stay with them forever, as well as making friends for life.

1st Tamworth Company and Senior Sections

Our Company and Senior Sections use the ‘Discover’ programme which is based on three areas; community, recreation and skills. Our young people get the chance to develop existing skills and learn new ones, through a fun, balanced and challenging programme of activities.
We have covered topics such as cooking, map reading where we compared online images to the map in the room, politics including a visit from local politicians, money with the challenge to buy and sell imaginary shares to see who can earn the most money, and themed nights.
We also make time for games and run a competition throughout the session to see who the best sportsman is through the year.
There have also been opportunities to go away on camps and residentials, which are often the highlights in the annual programme. As our numbers grow we will look to make these an annual part of our activities again.

History

In 2010 the company celebrated its 50th anniversary and over that time 28 Queens Badges have been awarded.
